Richard Andersen has 40+ years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, beginning with fieldwork and later moving into the role of vocational expert. He has testified extensively in 20+ California Superior Court venues as well as 3 federal court venues from San Diego to Fresno. Andersen serves both plaintiff and defense attorneys, providing the link between the physician and the economist to precisely determine past and future economic damages.

Prior Work Experience

Work Evaluation Program Valley Vocational Center, City of Industry, California

Supervisor (1972 - 1975)

Provided vocational evaluation, allowing disabled students access to ROP (Regional Occupational Program) classes which they were previously denied because of their disabilities.

The program was successful in providing work experience to mentally and physically disabled students. Because of the success of this pilot program, the Anaheim Unified School district contracted with the Hacienda La Puente School District to provide similar vocational evaluations to all of the secondary schools in their district.

Vocational Evaluation Work Adjustment, Casa Colina Hospital for Rehabilitative Medicine, Pomona, California

Director (1969 - 1972)

As a vocational rehabilitation counselor, participated in the first clinical pain management program in California, interfacing with the other disciplines, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychological services, and nursing.

As a result of this experience, developed a specialty in working with chronic pain patients suffering from catastrophic injuries.

As a graphic arts instructor (print shop), especially enjoyed educating the mentally challenged students, providing work experience in printing-related activities, such as assembling printing material and basic packaging activities.
